Course objectives
A student is able to describe the agroecosystem structure and the ecological factors influencing agricultural production. Understands the basic priciples of crop and animal production and its environmental impacts and environmentally friendly technologies.
Course make students aware of the biological and ecosystem limits of modern technologies, students realise and evaluate critical moment of land management.
Syllabus
  • Soil and plant nutrition - basic principles of soil formation, soil organic matter,
  • Fertilisers and manures, environmental impacts.
  • Agroecosystem – origin of agriculture, structure of agroecosystem, energy and agriculture,
  • Crop rotations.
  • Plants as the basis of food production, principles of ecological crop husbandry.
  • Ecological animal husbandry.
