Course objectives
The session identifies and examines the most topical issues and trend in the energy sector. Outcomes and findings of recent research projects carried on both the Department and external institution will be presented in this session. On successful completion of the course, students will be able to understand to real-time information about the development of the most important research issues and trends in the contemporary energy industry.
Syllabus
  • TBA according to lecturer’s choice. For examples shale gas, German nuclear phase-out, energy market liberalization, renewable energy integration, or development of new energy technologies, such as liquid metal batteries or nanotechnology applications.

Teaching methods
Lectures involve class discussions and require active participation; essay improve the ability of students to analyze particular issues; readings serve to broaden and deepen the spectrum of knowledge students acquire during lectures.
Assessment methods
The final grade will be calculated as a composite evaluation consisting of two parts: 1) attendance; 2) evaluation of the essay.
