Course objectives
At the end of this course, student is able: to learn the history of French literature of the given period; to define mains elements of differentiate individual literary styles; to illustrate the theory by means of texts; differentiate individual literary styles of the given period; to categorise them chronologically and compare them reciprocally. It is also assumed ability to orient in záklandích works of French literature of the 20th and 21th century.

  • 1. Literature at the end of 19th and at the beginning of 20th centuries. 2. Franch novel between the wars. Surrealism. 3. War novel. 4. The period after WW II (existentialism and théatre of the absurd). 5. New novel and literature of the second half of the 20th century. 6. Contemporary French literature.
