Prerequisites
Older French literature Students will acquint with the most important periods of the history of French literature from the beginnings up to the onset of classicism. At the end of this course, students should be able to differentiate individual literary styles of the given period, categorise them chronologically and compare them reciprocally.

Course objectives
Older French literature Students will acquint with the most important periods of the history of French literature from the beginnings up to the onset of classicism. Syllabus
  • 1. Beginnings of French literature. 2. French medieval literature. 3. Specific features of the era of Renaissance and humanism in France. 4. Literary tendencies before the era of classicism.

Lecture, class discussion.
Assessment methods
Workshop Ending: credit. Requirements for ending: Test (as a successful test is considered one with at least 70 % right answers) and oral examination based on the Skills of reading and knowledge gained.
