Course objectives
The main objective of the course is to present grammar as a system and study it as a complex whole with focus on functions and meanings. The course also includes basic linguistic terminology, the knowledge of which is essential for the students' independent work with the course materials and recommended sources as well as their future studies. At the end of this course, students should be able: to provide important theoretical knowledge of word structure; to classify kind of words; to differentiate between Czech and French.
Syllabus
  • 1. Kinds of words theory. Classification of kind of words according to morphological, syntactical and semantic views. 2. Name content and span. Noun, its kinds and forms. Class nouns, proper names. Gender. Number 3. Articles (definite, indefinite, parting) 4. Adjective, formation of feminine gender, off plural, comparison, position, equality. 5. All pronouns. 6. Verb. Verb forms. Conjugation survey. Tenses and voices.
