Course objectives
The goal of the seminar is to acquaint the students with basic linguistic methodological problems on theoretical and practical levels. At the end of this course, student is able to define the basic educational concepts, describe the communicative competence and interpret its various components, name and describe the strategies of learning a foreign language, describe the difference between a mistake and a error, list the basic linguistic terms, define the structure of a teaching unit, apply the acquiered knowledges and skills at school.

  • Introduction in the methodology of foreign languages teaching. Communicative competence and its components. Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (CEFR). European Language Portfolio (ELP). Strategy for language learning. Work with an error.

Teaching methods
