Course objectives
This course introduces the key concepts and topics of LGBT studies and queer studies. At the end of the course students should be able to describe historical diversity of LGBT conceptions and lived realities, to analyze their gender and sexuality presuppositions and to discuss the processes of construction of normality and identity. They will learn to characterize various political strategies in the field of LGBT activism, to compare them and to evaluate their advantages and disadvantages. They will gain insight into everyday issues of LGBT people and the key problems they face.

Annotations of the compulsory readings (20 %), written test (80 %). 60 % is the minimum to pass the course.
