Course objectives

At the end of this course, students : - will be able to understand the development of the Eastern Europe in the period of the early modern age
- will be competent to describe the circumstances of the formation and development of the despotic regime in the Russia and the successive decline of the Polish-Lithuanian union which was created on the principle of the medieval aristocratic liberties
- will be well versed in the development of the period political thinking
- will be able to explain the development of the religious and ecclesiastic circumstances
- will be able to analyze the specifics of the development of the Eastern Europe in the early modern age and also in subsequent period.
