- Course objectives
- The objective of the course consists in providing the basic knowledge of reading and writing Japanese. No prior knowledge of written Japanese is required. The course starts with the introduction of hiragana and katakana, approximately 50 kanji will also be introduced during the semester. Students will be able to read and write Japanese on simple everyday topics at the end of the course. Regular class attendance is complulsory.

- 2. – 6. Hiragana – reading and writing, exercises
- 7. – 8. Katakana – writing and reading, exercises
- 8. - 10. Kanji – cca 10 – 15 characters in 1 lesson, reading and writing practice
- 11. - 12. – Revision, final test
