Course objectives
The aim of the course is to gain the fundamental overview about Japanese studies as a scientific branch, and that from two perspectives:
(1) Japanese studies as the sum of the knowledge about Japan
(2) Japanese studies as a science branch processing this knowledge, and its history
Based on these two perspectives, the student having attended this class will have a clear idea about the scope of aspects from which Japan can be known, and is aware of the context within both Czecho-Slovak and world research on Japan and its prominent figures.
