Course objectives
The course is a continuance of the ‘Japanese Writing’ course from the previous semester. The aim of it is the students’ mastery of Japanese characters in context. The course combines the study of both characters and language and attendace of Japanese language classes is therefore highly recommened. By means of texts reading the students will gradually get to know common Japanese texts, which combine characters as well as the syllabary alphabets hiragana and katakana. In this manner, students will be able to enrich their vocabulary, get accustommed to the natural usage of Japanese characters in ordinary written texts, and at the same time combine the language abilities they have acquired in other Japanese language courses.
