Course objectives

The beginnings of Greek art, including the Cretan-Mycenaean cultures; the development of Greek culture in the geometric and archaic periods; the development of architecture, sculpture, painting and crafts.

Syllabus (in Czech)

• Klasické a helénistické období. Přednáška doplněná seminářem pro klasickou archeologii navazuje na výuku v semestru podzim 2000. Jejím obsahem je výklad o architektuře, sochařství a malířství klasického a helénistického období. Důraz je kladen na vysvětlení specifiky vývoje řecké kultury v klasickém období, estetických principů, jejich proměně v průběhu 4. století a v helénistické době. Na přednášku tématicky navazuje obsah semináře klasické archeologie.
