Course objectives
Institutional Aspects of European Integration (KVIAEI) The aim of the course is to deepen students knowledge of the EU institutional system and policies. Its content concentrates thematically on explanation of the genesis of the EU institutional structure, problems concerning the Common Market and economic competition, definition of individual policies and tools of the EU, accentuation of the structural policy, monetary and tax policies, co-operation in the field of justice and internal affairs, common foreign and security policy. The final part of the course discusses the problems of EU enlargement and prospects of its further development, including the issue of the Czech Republic s accession and the mechanism of drawing funds from the pre-structural funds and from Phare. Examination: oral.
