Course objectives
Students will acquire knowledge concerning the development of a choice of popular literature genres within the relecant history of culture and society;
they will be able to use the theoretical framwork in a practival analysis and interpretation of a variety of popular culture phenomena;
they will understand the dynamics behind the history of literary gnres and they will use their comprehension in the analysis of primary text of different genres;
they will be able to critically evaluate different theories of popular (mass) culture

Assessment methods
70% attendance is required, active participation in seminar discussions. One written essay is to be delivered that will be discussed and "defended" during an oral "colloquy".
