Course objectives
At the end of the course student should be ready:
to understand and to explaín all high-school's mathematical topics;
to teach high-school mathematics practically.
Syllabus
  • Systematic introduction to the didactics of mathematics.
  • Importance of mathematical education.
  • Specific features of teaching math.
  • Aspects of maths education in different schools due to their various intending as well as to intellectual skills of their students.
  • Checking and testing of students' knowledge of mathematics and its marking.
  • Methods of solving maths problems.
  • Preparation of students for teaching standard topics of high-school maths: Basic notions of set theory, Introduction to mathematical logic, Proofs, Method of induction, Elementary number theory, basic number domains.
