Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is also offered to the students of the fields other than those the course is directly associated with.
fields of study / plans the course is directly associated with
there are 9 fields of study the course is directly associated with, display
Course objectives
The students will deepen their understanding of basic algebraic structures and will master concrete algorithms mainly concerning polynomials.
Syllabus
  • Basic properties of monoids, groups and rings. Algorithms for calculating with polynomials.
Literature
  • Sets of appropriate problems at www.math.muni.cz/~polak
Teaching methods
With the help of an instructor, the students solve various problems, mainly practical ones. Also certain theoretical problems are considered.
Assessment methods
For a credit, one needs an active participation at seminars (maximum 3 missed), a success by the final test taking one hour consisting of two rather algorithmic problems (a half of possible points is needed).
Language of instruction
Czech
