Předmět je koncipován jako praktický. Cílem je získání základních dovedností o postupech a řešení komplikovaných situací, které umožňují zabezpečení a peroperační péči o pacienty podstupující operační či diagnostické výkony v celkové či místní anestezii ve všech věkových skupinách.
