Course objectives
Subject transcultural nursing aims to acquaint students with the specifications for the provision of care foreign nationals. The student will know: - The history of the development of transcultural nursing at us and the world; - Background and the importance of transcultural nursing and factors that affect it. Student understands and uses the basic terminology in transcultural nursing. Student on the basis of the information gathered to identify the value of clients. Student knows the principles of communication with the label foreigners will be respected in practice apply. Student on the basis of the knowledge and perception of the relationship multiculturaly and spirituality, focused in the issues spiritual needs; Student means the effects of faith, religion, culture, traditions, customs, values, ethics ... which cut in transcultural issues nursing. The student knows the basic characteristics of selected ethnic, cultural and religious groups living in the Czech Republic. Student will receive an overview of selected theories and conceptual models in transcultural nursing, apply lessons learned in the implementation process in the nursing care foreigners

  • Introduction to transcultural nursing - the importance of transcultural nursing and factors that affect it. The history of the development of transcultural nursing in our country and the world. Basic terminology in a multicultural/transcultural nursing. Selected legislative framework - Act on the Residence of Aliens in the Czech Republic; Asylum Act. Ethnic climate in the Czech Republic. Ethnic minorities living in the Czech Republic. Ethical aspects and communication in a transcultural nursing. Theory and conceptual models in a transcultural nursing: Madeleine Leininger - The theory of culturally diverse and universal care. Joyce Newman Giger, Ruth Elaine Davidhizar - Model considerate and culturally tailored care. Nursing process in a transcultural nursing. Spirituality and spiritual needs in a transcultural nursing.
