The course is designed for the fourth-year students of combined studies in the Public Economics and Administration field of study.

Course objectives
The main objective of the course is to discuss and analyze topical problems of housing policy. Students are introduced to housing and housing policy in general. Particular attention is paid to the specifics of theoretical and practical issues of housing in their social and historical context.
At the end of this course, students are expected to:
- understand the importance of housing policy and explain its trends
- explain instruments of housing policy
- discuss the basic principles of the housing market and its implications on housing policy
- be acquainted with the specificity of various housing sectors - owner, rental, cooperative
- be able to evaluate instruments of the housing policy and the possibilities of their application in practise

Teaching methods
For the purposes of the combined form, the lectures are divided into three parts (tutorials). Durint tutorials students are acquainted with the problems of housing in order to obtain an overview of housing and housing policy, and acquire the basic principles of its practical. This leads students to understand all the specifics and help them to write a seminar paper. The main emphasis is put on self-study.
Assessment methods
The course is concluded with a written test and an oral exam. Students are eligible to take the written test provided that they fulfill given conditions:
1. They hand in the seminar paper in a given extent and structure within the obligatory date.
2. They pass the on-line tests in the IS MU during an obligatory period (a test is regarded as successful if at least 60% of answers are correct).

Requirements (including the literature) are specified further in the interactive syllabus and the downloadable study plan before the semester starts.
Important information! If students commit a prohibited act, such as using various forbidden tools, cribbing, taking out any part of the exam or any other cheating, the teacher is allowed to interrupt an exam and to grade a student with F, FF or FFF according to the seriousness of the offence. The mentioned procedure relates to all the activities that are included in the final evaluation of the course (seminar work, essays, tests etc.).
