Course objectives
Civil Law Substantive - the fundamental legal part of private legal area, introduction lessons.
Understanding of the conception of the civil law substantive and its place in law system.
Delimitation of the civil law substantive.
At the end of the course students should be able to:
understand the basic institutes of Civil Law with the context of other parts of Private Law;

  • I. Conception of private law and its place in law system.
  • Criteria of an internal structural of the private law.
  • System of the private law.
  • Source of the private law.
  • Principles of the private law.
  • Private legal relationship - concept, elements, categorization, legal subjects of private relationships.
  • Legal matters in private law.
  • II. Personal law and property law. Classification.
  • Ownership and another rights in rem.
  • The law of obligations.
  • Obligations arising from contracts.
  • Liability.
  • Succession of persons and rights.
  • Civil Law Substantive - concept, object, principles, system, rules, trends of development.

Teaching methods
Learning is made in the form of lecture (once a two weeks) and following seminaries (once a week). The lectures have cognitive function, seminaries are reserved for practise of ability to apply the legal regulation on the concrete cases.
Assessment methods
Compulsory lessons.
Continuous home preparation.
Written tests.
The course finishes with written test, the students obtain credits. The conditions for obtaining credits can be specified by every teacher differently. It is minimally to pass one test, number of questions designates the teacher, the student has to get more than half of marks.
