- Course objectives
- In this course, students will become familiar with EU Commission’s approach to selected cases from the following cases: (i) horizontal mergers, (ii) non-horizontal mergers, (iii) the abuse of a dominant position, (iv) cartels and tacit collusion (v) vertical restraints (vi) state aid. After completing this course, students will be able to solve any competition case using qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Syllabus
- The courses will be held in seven lectures:
- 1. Cases of horizontal mergers
- 2. Cases of non-horizontal mergers
- 3. Cases of abuse of dominant position
- 4. Cases of cartels and tacit collusion
- 5. Cases of vertical restraints
- 6. The state aid
- 7. Workshop at the headquarters of the EU Commission (DG Comp) and the EU Parliament in Brussels.
