Course objectives
The students shall come to know and practise written and spoken texts in cThommunication depending on their function and purport. Students shall master fluent and continuous formulation, argumentation and reasoning, they should be able to follow other participants of communications (and listening to them) attentively, so that they understand how to bThe students shall come to know and practise written and spoken texts in cThommunication depending on their function and purport. Students shall master fluent and continuous formulation, argumentation and reasoning, ring the children in kindergartens (nursery schools) to communicative competency and to other competency (see the syllabus below). The exercising is intent on elimination of most frequent stylistic problems in spoken and written texts and on fundamentals of rhetoric. The ability of simple (unsophisticated), understandable, lively and telling formulation with positive emotional connotation is almost stressed, too.
Syllabus
  • 1. Fundamental style differentiation of language; functional styles. 2. Stylistic kinds of texts of compositional point of view; their characteristics. 3. Mastery of special kinds of texts of compositional aspects, especially of conversational style, of operative technical style (discussion, dialogue) and artistic style (poetry for children, riddles, rhymes for children, high-quality author’s/artful and folklore songs). 4. Mastery of stylistic diction – creative composition, produce and reproducing composition. 5. Rhetoric as a theory of oratory / speech training. Correctness in rhetorical / oratorical texts. 6. Character of rhetorical style. History and development of rhetoric. 7. Theory of argumentation (reasoning). Communicative and ethical maxima. 8. Rhetorical texts and norm of style. 9. Sound and phonetic aspects of spoken texts; difference of intonation, modulation and of speech cadence with regards to the children. 10. Practical education in rhetoric with regards to the optimal way of cultivation of competency for learning, for solving problems, with regards to the optimal way of forming of communicative, social and personal, civil competence and competence for various activities (see RVP). 11. Mental preparing for rhetorical speech. Ways of control of a stage-fright (relaxation, deep-breathing, aromatherapy).

Teaching methods
Lectures - seminary - class discussion. After completing the course student should be able to: - work with the language material and the entire text, - create a sophisticated spoken and written speech, - communicate linguistically and stylistically correctly, - analyze the text.
Assessment methods
The type of the lesson: consultations. The course is closed by an examination consisting of two parts: written and oral. The individual work: a) Creating any teaching aid suitable for language lessons b) Language games in nursery schools – ideas for a particular subject matter.Reguirements: 1. Search elaboration with the focus on children poetry, riddles, rhymes, guality authorial and folklore songs. 2. Notification of the short text stylistic characteristic - style and text according to the choice. 3. Selected personality from the rhetoric history (by which he/she inspires and his/her contribution).
