For successful completion of this course it is necessary to participate in the seminars since the beginning of the semester. Student must apply for enrolment permission. His/her application has to contain a description of his/her presentation experience and his/her expectations from this course.

Course objectives
This course is a loose follow-up to the course PSB_10 Presentation skills I and its aim is to improve the skills up to professional level. At the end of the course students should be able to:
1. present results of psychological research;
2. present himself/herself and his/her own work finely;
3. manage to present in front of large audiences;
4. deliver commercially oriented presentations.
Syllabus
  • 1. Brief review of topics from the basic course - types of presentations and their specifics, audience analysis and basic rules of presenting
  • 2. Presentation of psychological research - methodology of presenting the results of scientific work, specifics of an academic presentation, tips on effective communication of scientific content to non-scientists and rules for referencing sources
  • 3. Self-presentation - rules for presenting oneself and own work in front of the audience or in an interview
  • 4. Presentations for large audiences - specifics of presenting in large auditoria for large audiences, tips for handling stage fright and anxiety
  • 5. Commercially oriented presentations - effective strategies for presenting products and delivering presentations with the aim of persuading the audience to purchase services or goods

Teaching methods
Teaching methods: video-training and feedback, group work, discussions and homework. The course offers e-learning material.
Assessment methods
This course has continuous evaluation. For successful completion student has to fulfil the activites assigned during the semester and meet the requirements for class attendance. In case of fulfillment of the continuous evaluation requirements it is not necessary to attend the final exam.
