Bachelor degree exam including 4 subjects: general psychology, metodology of psychology, psychopatology, developmental psychology.

Course objectives
Course objectives: this course is aimed at getting knowledge about problems of the boundary between psychology and law, and curentlly at looking for the answers to actual social problems concerning particularly the violance and its other forms.
Syllabus
  • 1. Victimology and victimisation – typology of victims, primary and secondary harm, experiencing damage, impact of criminal act on victim, posttraumatic stress disorder and risk of its development in conection with criminal act, revictimisation, providing help in a situation of heaviness, treating crime victims etc., Stockholm syndrome, the activities of Bílý kruh bezpečí
  • 2. Grafiti – kind of art protest against the consumer society or product of vandalism?, vandalism as a destructive and liquidating behaviour
  • 3. Squatting – legal × psychological point of view, solidarity and understanding × disillusion and disenchantment
  • 4. Extremist violance – violance at football stadiums, „Czechs to Czechs ?“,
  • 5. Emo style of young generation – emo and searching for one’s own identity, boundary between the sadness and suicide
  • 6. School shooting and massacre – term definition, profile of the offender, attachment theory, prediction and prevention of violance, amok alarm
  • 7. Amok from the forensic psychological point of view – offender’s „social death“, Whitman syndrome
  • 8. Domestic violance – causes and roots of domestic violance, problems of defining psychological torture, battered woman syndrome (BWS), law n. 135/2006 Sb. (expulsion institute)
  • 9. Children and domestic violance – mother with children escape from domestic violance, children standing by police actions, children in contact with violent person after parents separation
  • 10. Stalking - term definition, stalker’s typical behaviour, stalking offenders, approaches to solution of stalking problem, prediction and prevention of violance, effectivity of criminal law restrictions
  • 11. Animal torture – is animal torture indication of violant criminality?
  • 12. Prediction and prevention of goal-directed violance – approach to intentional attack on specific target, escalation, de-escalation, importance of stabilizers

Assessment methods: This course is completed with written test which results from study materials, lectures and semminars. Lecture/seminar (1/1) Seminar- presentation of case studies. Condition of compliting: written test, presentation of own case study.
