Prerequisites
Students choose two of the four offered foreign languages in the course of their studies and take exams. The guarantors of the subjects can provide specific requirements if necessary.

Course objectives
Main objective of the course is: to understand reading of a foreign technical literature from the given field of study in a limited extent; acquisition of foreign terminology; improvement in basic academic linguistic skills; ability to write a summary, prepare thesis of an article in a foreign language, to follow and understand a spoken academic presentation in the given field of study, conversation on the topic of the given field; student prepare for exams themselves.
Syllabus
  • The applicant is to be examined from reading and translation of a segment from a longer text in Russian (100-200 pages). In the course of the translation he/she is to show the understanding of relevant Russian grammar. The translation of 10-20 pages is to be submitted in written. The Russian conversation is focused on the professional themes of the applicant. The applicant is to show the communication and comprehensive skills there and present (orally) the plan of his dissertation.
