Course objectives
The goal of course is to deepen the knowledge of practical language. At the end of this seminar students will be able to discuss conversational topics; to express their ideas using new vocabulary in written and oral form; to compare some grammatical and lexical phenomena of Russian and Czech languages.

  • 1. Tourism. Travel agencies. 2. Active holidays. Organized leisure trip or on your own? 3. House and flat. Description of your residence. 4. Housing in city and in a village. Positive and negative aspects. 5. Architecture. Culture and history. 6. Cultural events. Visit galleries, museums, theaters. 7. Concerts and festivals. Music and contemporary youth. 8. Catering. Healthy food. Healthy and unhealthy food on my table. 9. The Russian and world cuisine. My favorite dishes. 10. Christmas tradition in Russia and Czech Republic. 11. Visit. Gifts. 12. Today's problems of contemporary young people.

Teaching methods
Seminar. Regular preparing for the seminar and doing of required homework. Listening and reading of Russian texts. Discussions and presentations within the discussed topics.
Assessment methods
The credit requirements: 1. active participation in the class: two absences per semester are allowed; 2. regular assessment and doing the required home assignments. 3. written essay on the given topic (student must hand in it during the last study week at the latest).
