Course objectives
The goal is to learn basic communication skills through dialogue, discussions and debates in the conversation topics. A fundamental component of the course is to improve speaking a phonetic, lexical and grammatical. Students concurrently develop their language skills in listening and reading Russian texts from the current periodicals and the Internet. Writing is regularly practiced and controlled.

Teaching methods
The student must prepare regulary for the seminar and do required home assingnments. Listening and reading russian texts.
Assessment methods
Written tests memorized grammatical features and vocabulary (translation and optional exercises), after successfully writing the student will be tested orally on memorized conversation topics, from reading books in Russian (minimum 100-130 pages, the book will carry with you) and listening (Audio, video, DVD - min. 1 movie) and a student present a glossary of new words from reading (60 words). Evaluated for grammatical accuracy, content and use of vocabulary, pronunciation and intonation structure.
