Course objectives
The main aim is to introduce students to contemporary Russia: geography, culture, architecture, customs, cuisine, mentality of the population. Furthermore, to develop language skills and speaking skills by speaking exercises, working with the Internet, Russian-speaking press and literature.
Syllabus
  • The content of the subject was included in the following topics: 1. Russian mentality. Typical properties Russians. 2. Malířství.Ancient art: icons, frescoes, mosaics. 3. Development of art in Russia in     19th century. Painters of TPHV. Modern art movements of the 20th century. Museums of Russia. 4. The Russian music. Folklore, folk song, traditional musical instruments. 5. Classical music - developments, trends, schools. Modern musical directions at the beginning of the 20th century. 6. "Non-academic music" of the 20th century: Alexandrov Ensemble, mass song, song copyrights. Artists. 7. Theater in old Russia. Clowns, puppet theater, Balagan. 8. Development of Theatre   19th century. Russia's most famous theaters. Theater directors, actors and playwrights. 9. Ballet. Djagilevovy Russian season. 10.Film. The Past and Present of Russian and Soviet film. 11.Ecology of Russia. 12.Czech - Russian relations.

Teaching methods
6 hours contact - students work independently with the Russian-speaking lyrics, seek information on topics discussed, prepare presentations.
Assessment methods
The quality of information and also the correct pronunciation, intonation and vocabulary. In the last week students hand in the presentation / essay on one of the topics.
