Course objectives
After completing the cource the student will be able to: • describe and explain the structure and function of human body • explain the basic physical - chemical processes occurring in the human body • identify the most common disorder in the structure and function of regulatory systems and to understand the consequences of these disorders to the performance of an individual • To explain the relation between ontogenetic periods and typical diseases of age • To assess risk factors in childhood and adolescence - familiar with the issue of etiology, prevention and treatment of childhood diseases • explain the causes and symptoms of conditions that threaten life and health of children and adults and suggests preventive measures of chronic non-infectious diseases
Syllabus
  • 1.Structure and function of various organ systems and their most common disorders 2.Musculoskeletal (bone - bone shape, internal structure of bone growth and bone development, bone connection, a description of the skeleton, musculature - the function of muscular system, skeletal muscle structure, innervation, contraction, growth and development of muscles, muscle groups, selected variations in shape and function of the locomotor system) 3. Blood and blood circulation (internal environment of the organism, the composition of blood - plasma, blood elements, properties of blood - the function of blood coagulation, sedimentation, blood groups, the importance of blood in defending the body against infections, immunity, vaccinations, allergies, blood circulation - a small and pulmonary circulation, heart structure, fetal circulation, nutrition, heart, heart, heart rate, cardiac volumes, blood vessels, circulatory physiology, tissue fluid, lymph and spleen; selected diseases of blood and blood circulation) 4. Respiratory system (construction and operation of the respiratory system, upper respiratory tract, lower respiratory tract, lungs, respiratory movements, breathing and respiratory gas transfer, developmental traits respiratory tract respiratory tract selected) 5. Digestive system (anatomy and physiology of the digestive system - TS structure of the wall, structure and function of organs TS, digestion of sugars, fats, proteins, metabolic and energy - metabolism, energy conversion, basal metabolism, nutrition, nutritional disorders, and selected digestive system) 6. Excretory system (anatomy and physiology of urinary system, the selected function and disorders of the urinary system) 7. Genital system (anatomy and function of the reproductive system, development of gonads, male genitals, female genitals, menstrual and ovulatory cycle, the selected disturbances in the structure and function of the reproductive system) 8. The endocrine system (endocrine-disrupting effects, an overview of the endocrine glands, hormone regulation, the selected disturbances endocrine glands) 9. Sensory system (sensory system function, receptors, skin system - structure and function, regulation of body temperature, selected skin diseases, visual disorders, eye diseases selected, the auditory system - selected disorders of hearing, equilibrium organs, proprioceptors) 10. Nervous system (construction and operation of individual parts of the nervous system, central nervous system, peripheral nerves, nervous system physiology, rhythms, laterality, selected nervous system disease) 11. Infectious Diseases (basic concepts, basic microbiology, overview of the most common infectious diseases - droplet infection, foodborne infections, parasites)

Successful passing of examination - the oral exam (3 questions), is based on extended study (from selected literature sources) and the successful passing of practical course (the writtent test, 30 questions, 25 correct answers).
