Course objectives
At the end of this course, a student will be able to understand the areas of social work; he/she will have a picture of the social work methods and based on this knowledge, he/she will be able to apply these findings into the social-pedagogic practise. The information will be used for the projecting area. At the end of this course and student will be able to apply the metodology into the area of social pedagogy. He/she will be able to creative work in the area of projecting and research
Syllabus
  • Social work as a branch and scientific disipline, cooperation with other scientific disciplines. Basic ideas of social work, paradigms of social work. Pholosophical fundaments significant for social work. Chosen theories of social work. Progress of social work all over the world and in the Czech Republic. Social worker and client, ethic codex of social worker, relatonships, values. Rights of social workers and clients. Social work and social services, demands of social work, burnout syndrom. Volutaree work, conceptions of work with minorities. Chosen methodes of social work.

Assessment methods
Study of different theories of social work and its interconnection with the field of social work methods. The output is to be formed by a study depicting the social troubles of selected regions and a review of selected secondary sources.
