Course objectives
The course is focused on Spanish syntax and it is divided into theoretical and practical part. The aim is the analysis of Spanish texts from syntactic point of view.

  • Types of clauses in Spanish.
  • Types of complex sentences.
  • Word order in Spanish clause.
  • Types of clauses in Spanish fiction and non-fiction (newspaper language).

Teaching methods
Lecture: exposition and definitions of basic terms of syntax and their exemplification on Spanish texts. Seminar: application of theoretical knowledge on authentic texts. During the analysis of Spanish texts from syntactic point of view students show their ability to interconnect on their own their theoretical knowledge and practical analysis of specific texts.
