Course objectives
The course assumes knowledge of master level exams from subject Social pathology and prevention, which develops in the deeper theoretical and empirical dimensions.
Strengthens the methodological competence of doctoral student in social pathology, which will lead to the ability to implement quality, applied educational research within the field.
After completing the course, it is expected that the student will be able to:
- Understand and explain the formation of norms of society, functioning system of social control and demonstrate professional orientation in social pathology and deviance;
- Design and implement applied research in the field of social pathology;
- Interpret results and prepare the final report, or. prepare results for publication by a scientific article.
Syllabus
  • The course is to allow students a deep theoretical foundation in the issues of social pathologies and develop the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in the implementation of research specific phenomenon or behavior. Students will be able reflection of the methodological process of its investigation.
  • Syllabus of the subject, areas for research:
  • 1. Norm and order in society. Social control.
  • 2. Theory of social deviations, definition of social pathology.
  • 3. Prevention a intervention.
  • 4. Pedagogical educatinal institutions in prevention and atonement of social pathological phenomeons.
  • 5. Pedagogue and his competentions in the area of social pathologies.
  • 6. Devation of school children. Absenteeism. Agression and bullying. Criminality and delinquention. Drugs as an actual thread.
  • 7. Criminality in law kontext.
  • 8. Behavour disorders.
  • 9. Pathological addictions.
  • 10. Pathology of family.
  • 11. Deviation in life of individuum (homelessness, prostitution, suicidality etc.).
  • 12. Extreme movements, sects and cults.
  • 13. Preparation of research in social pathology. Research design, formulating objectives, choosing methods.
  • 14. Qualitative research in social pathologies. Its use, implementation, applications for practice.
