Prerequisites
The study of literature. Active participation in seminars. Create a store of games and exercises from the area of drama education. Reflective diary of observations focused on the role of experience in education. Group task: design drama lessons for chosen target group.

Course objectives
The course is designed for students of master's degree in social pedagogy with and without drama in education experience. Students visit various institutions using various forms of theater and drama dedicated to leisure and social isues. They will get an idea of methods of drama in education and their educational potential for the profession of social pedagogue. On the basis of personal experience students learn the basic exercises, techniques, games and selected methods using in Applied drama field (sructured drama work, theater in education, playback theater, etc.). Students focus on the reflection of their own experience obtained by the drama methods as a means of education. After course students will be able to: Define the concepts of drama education, applied drama, structured drama, theater in education, playback theater. Describe the importance of experience (or experience obtained on the basis of the arts and drama) for education. Explain the concept of drama education for social pedagogy. Create the basic structure of drama lessons. Apply selected exercises, techniques and dramatic games in practice.

  • Visiting various institutions and various forms of theater and drama in education techniques. Introduction to drama in education. Applied drama from the perspective of social pedagogy. Drama as a way of learning. Dramatic exercises, techniques and games. Structured drama work. Theatre in Education. Playback Theatre. Drama lesson methodology. Implementation of drama lessons. Reflection realized drama lessons.
