Course objectives
In the compulsorily-optional language course C the student will enlarge his terminolgy and academic language abilities in English. Successful student should have been credited for SZ9BP_CJA1 and SZ9BP_CJA2 courses and completing all written assignments. Examination requirements: - 2 credits ("zápočty") in SZ9BP_CJA1 and SZ9BP_CJA2 - CONVERSATION on the given topics - discussion, analysis and translation of a 5 pages-SPECIAL TEXT prepared as a home assignment (A4 format, approx. 2000 words. SPECIAL TEXT: authentic English or American texts linked to the student's field of study.

Mind, Body, Stress, Health And Sports. 4. Gender, Race, Multicultural Issues. Human rights, ethnic minorities, tolerance, etc. 5. 21st Century Problems. Drug abuse, terrorism, wars, environment,animal rights, etc..) 6. Growing Up and Growing Old (adolescence, adulthood, ageing. 7. Rules and restrictions, Crime and punishment. 8. Cultural Differences. Cultural Life; The Arts,(different cultures, EU countries, etc.). 9. Interpersonal Relations (friendship, love, breakups, etc.) 10. Non-Verbal Communication. Body language.
