Course objectives
The aim of the optional course is to help students achieve A1 level knowledge of Russian and to gain basic Russian language skills, mainly listening and reading comprehension, basic speaking skills and develop vocabulary and grammar at A1 level.
Syllabus
  • Students can acquire basic vocabulary and grammar at A1 level. Students will develop mainly listening, speaking and reading skills at A1 level. Vocabulary: people and family, jobs and places of work, school, daily routine, hobbies and interests, common nouns/verbs/adjectives, countries, nationalities, food and drink, travelling Grammar: verb to be, possessive adjectives, singular and plural nouns, articles, present simple and present continuous, adverbs of frequency, there is/there are, past simple, prepositions

6 consultations (each consisting of 4 lessons), activities and tasks developing students' language skills and competencies, grammar and vocabulary practice, pair and group work, discussions
Assessment methods
Active participation in the consultations, careful home preparation and self-study, short oral presentation of yourself, written test at A1 level.
