Course objectives
The mai objectives can be summarized as follow: to understand the basis teaching of oncology, supportive care and treatment of all frekvent oncologic diseases
Syllabus
  • General oncology
  • Theoretical background and future developement in clinical oncology. Anticancer chemotherapy, hormonotherapy and biotherapy. Radiotherapy. Implication of radioisotopes. Surgery. Infectious complications in immunocompromised host. Analgetics, supportive and palliative cancer care. Nutrition and cancer. Nutritional support of malnourished cancer patient. Dietary factors in cancer prevention. Bone marrow and peripheral stem cell transplantation. Acute complications in oncology, coagulopathy and hypercalcaemia, hyperviscosis. Psychological problems of oncological patients.
  • Special oncology Cancer of head and neck. Colorectal cancer. Lung cancer. Cancer of prostate, bladder and kidney. Hematological malignant disease.

Oncology for students of general medicine ends with credit and oral examen. Oncology for magister study of non medial direction ends with credit only.
