Course objectives
Having met the course requirements, students will be well informed about literary history of literature for youth which makes an indispensable part of our national literature, especially in relation to the so-called readers´ authors, as well as to the current interpretation of their works. The course takes into consideration different levels of literary-historical knowledge which students bring from different types of secondary schools. Students are able to summarize their literary-historical knowledge in the context of Czech national history. They will be able to interpret literary pieces as well as justify and support their views using their knowledge of literary studies.

  • 1. The Czech literature for youth in the context of the national literature from the beginning of the National Revival to the end of the 19th century. 2. Outstanding authors in relation to the Czech literature and political history (J. Dobrovský, J. Jungmann, V. M. Kramerius, V. R. Kramerius, J. K. Tyl, K. H. Borovský, B. Němcová, K. Světlá, E. Teaching methods
Type of course: consultations. Through a set of selected topics students learn about änd discuss the methodology of literary science.
Assessment methods
To meet credit requirements, students have to write a test in literary history. The test consists of ten separately evaluated tasks, passmark is up to and including 2,9.
