Course objectives
Having met the course requirements, students will understand and will be ale to apply literary-critical skills. They will be able to analyse and interpret a literary text using the form of a review and a literary-critical study. They will be able to interpret literary pieces as well as justify and support their views using their knowledge of literary studies.
Syllabus
  • 1. Reading selected literary works. 2. Methods of interpretation, specificity of literature for children and youth. 3. Literary-critical analysis of fiction – intentional literature for children and youth. 4. Comparatistics, methods of synthesis in the approach to literary works.

Teaching methods
Type of course: self-study of literary texts and tutorials.
Assessment methods
Credit requirements: written assignments – 3 reviews of 1-2 pages, a comparative study of 3-5 pages handed in according to the schedule, specified at the beginning of the term.
