Prerequisites
The terminology and subject knowledge from individual physical geographical sciences (geomorphology, climatology, hydrology, soil geography and biogeography) and from landscape ecology on one hand, and simultaneously from human geographical sciences are expected. The ability to integrate the analytic knowledge in scientific and regional manner represents a very important condition. Also the ability to work in the terrain i another precondition.

Course objectives
The aim of the subject is to demosntrate a selected region of the Czech Republic as a logical and functional territorial system of natural features and human activities operating in given area and time. Every participant of this field work is required to prepare a structured presentation about selected scientific and/or regional aspect of the territory to be visited. This presentation will be given as a lecture to students during the field work.

  • The contents of the subject:
  • 1. The preparation of the interior excursion, what must not be forgotten.
  • 2. The documentation of the preparated field work.
  • 3. The selection, preparation and preliminary documentary elaboration of the contents and route of the field work.
  • 4. The work efficiency and security during the field work.
  • 5. The proper preparation of own proposal for a field work to be carried out in a selected region of the Czech Republic as a practical example.
