Course objectives
This course familiarizes students with the most common surgical procedures which apply in chest and abdomen and diseases and musculoskeletal injuries.
Syllabus
  • • Preparation for surgery - total examination • Preparation for surgery - surgical wound disinfection, sterilization • The operational procedures - surgical technique, wound closures, tools and materials • Post-operative response - observation, correlation circulation, hypoxia, diuresis, inner intermediate • Examination of the patient - physical methods • Examination of the patient - ECG, ultrasound, X-ray. CT, MRI • Numbness - local anesthetics, total (hypnotics, analgesics, muscle relaxants) • Shock - types, stages, treatment • Dressings - depending on material, purpose, principles of management; Orthoses - prostheses • Cover wounds - open, closed, materials • Oncology - chemotherapy, radiotherapy, staging, grading, TNM • Neck Surgery - thyroid, arteries, tracheotomy • Surgery of the chest - heart defects, treatment, lung surgery • abdominal surgery - stomach, duodenum, small intestine and surgery of the colon • Surgery of the rectum - colostomy, urinary incontinence • Surgery of the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen surgery • acute abdomen, peritonitis circumscripta, diffusa • Haemoperitoneum; appendicitis acuta • CNS surgery - approaches, types of operations, peripheral nerve surgery - diagnosis and therapy • Liver, kidney, heart - diagnosis, indications, design • tendon surgery - hand, Achilles tendon - diagnosis and therapy • Microsurgery - replantation, indications, design • Urology - Surgical kidney, urine. bladder, prostate • Incontinence - diagnosis, therapy (male female) • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
