Course objectives
Following the basic information concerning the origin of alpine skiing, students will learn about the ski racing development of alpine disciplines, with a historical overview and the gradual introduction of competitions in AD, with significant alpine skiing personalities in our country and worldwide. A separate chapter contains an overview about development stages of racing technique from the early 20th century to the present. The aim of the subject is a complex presentation of the organizational structure of SLCR(Czech Alpine Skiing Association), committees and departments, the integration into international organizations such as FIS, IOC and FISU, organizing process inside the skiing association: status, general meetings and conferences, as well as general term of office in the alpine skiing department: regions, sections, clubs, age groups, member method of keeping records, further on the educational system of officials, coaches, referees. Students will acquire an overview of the competitions at all levels and categories in AD as part of the SLCR, FIS, Olympics, UNI, Masters etc. Students will acquire the knowledge of scoring performances and also the form of practical calculations, the FIS and SLCR rules and points, classification and qualification requirements, Alpine Skiing Department criteria for selection into the higher components and top events. Within the sport centre environment students will become familiar with all activities in the categories aged 7-12. The basic task is to use knowledge of the compulsory part of the study (in pedagogy and didactics with specifics of age and individual peculiarities, the sensitive period of development of the dominant physical skills for sports performance skiers. Information will be focused on the knowledge of the annual training cycle and its components.
Syllabus
  • Complex exercises will be divided into two parts: a) using the end of the racing period covered for the summer semester, the month of March and April for skills- in the snow (participation in specific parts of the training of III. level coaches) b) the part of fitness training in May (the first part of the preparatory period) In the first part students will manage and organize practical form of the clubs as methodical training concerning on – drilling, practicing and perfecting techniques. Studying of materials available from our and foreign literature and additional information from the instructor is compulsory. The second part will start with motor tests including all forms of sports training in the 1st and 2nd part of the preparatory period. We will focus on practical exercises guiding children of that age. Students have to draw up a frame plan of sports training for given age category (consultation with the teacher) in the form of seminar work.
