Course objectives
On successful completion of the course student will be able to acquire basic skills and abilities, to use knowledge in the field of technology as a serious component of human culture. Student will be able to transmit information from a qualifying field of technology, including specialized training materials, field trips and discussions.

  • 1st Comenius from the present day.
  • 2nd Technology as a component of human culture, a reflection of technology in social practice
  • 3rd Technology and its relationship to other areas of human activity.
  • 4th Technology in construction, engineering and agriculture.
  • 5th Technology, energy and environmental problems.
  • 6th Medical science, health, sport and the development of technology.
  • 7th Transport equipment.
  • 8th Technical Museum in the Czech Republic and abroad.
  • 9th Technical Museum, and their use in educational practice.
  • 10th Technical Center for Youth - the possibility or utopia?
  • 11th Information and communication technologies as part of the development and prospects of technology.

Teaching methods
Lectures, class discussion, presentation of assigned topics before the seminar group, field trips (The technical museum in Brno).
Assessment methods
Final project - A significant discovery in the history of technology (engineering, architecture, medicine, road-traffic engineering), link to the current use of technology, the use of the school experience. Presentation of the seminar group and submit the text in the range min. 1-2 or written test.
