Study plan

1) PhD thesis defence (ability to present and argue within a scholarly debate).
2) A scholarly question based on the topic of the dissertation, but not exactly identical to its scope, demonstrating the student's broader outlook and orientation in problem solving and deep knowledge of art history, especially in the area of specialization according to the topic of the dissertation.
3) Good knowledge of historiography and methodology, especially related to the subject of the dissertation.

Mandatory participation in doctoral collegia and colloquia.

Publication minimum: at least one paper in a Czech or foreign non-impacted peer-reviewed journal, e.g. Umění, Opuscula Historiae Artium, Bulletin Moravské galerie v Brně, or a peer-reviewed book publication, exhibition catalogue, etc. It can be replaced by creating an exhibition from the position of the author (curator).

At least one paper presented at a foreign or domestic conference, or organization of a conference, conference panel, or workshop whose focus is related to professional studies.

A study stay abroad (of at least 1 month).

Participation in teaching, organizational, or scientific research tasks of the Institute.
