Reflection of the civil war in the 90ties of the last century in croatian cinematography This text analyzes the impact of the war in former Yugoslavia on the area of the croatian cinematography. The war caused many problems that the cinematography battled with, too. The croatian film-makers had to deal with a lack of the funding and the work itself, with the poor technical equipment in the film-studios as well as viewer resistance. Nevertheless, the inconsiderable amount of the movies originated in Croatia. It was the war that became a model for lots of them. In the war period and immediately after, when the war was still a hot theme, the film-makers were shooting the movies, which were connected with the former partisan movies due to their structure. The directors intended to spread the truth about Croatia through the movies, in which we can meet the steady types of major figures and the sharp division on good and evil. Few years later, the croatian film-makers managed to create the comedies with the war theme, which serve the audiences a completely different view. They facilitate to them to laugh over the bitter moments of their lives. Longer of the war conflict, the more the directors seek to step back from the war and try to catch the real image of the war in their movies. The war movies represent a great importance in the croatian cinematography. They will always bring back the events, which sorely affected the croatian history.
