This thesis endeavours to present information about
the area protection. At first it deals with the 183/2006
statute on landscape planning and building regulations which
provides the framework for the protection at special statutes
level. The second part of this thesis is about the tools of
general area protection as used in czech statute 114/1992 on
nature and scenery protection. This part also explains the use
of the statutes in practice and identifies the problematic
areas.
