The thesis tries to scatch the Sicilian betrothal of the
nineteenth century from
the social and folcloristic points of view.
It almost aspires to ouline some of the sicilian engagement
traditions and habits
comparing them with the present.
The last object are the striking differences between the
present and the past
of the sicilian and italian betrothal.
