Anotace: Předmětem výzkumu této práce jsou limity implementace Kimberlijského procesu v Demokratické republice Kongo, která je považována za jeden z případů, kde Kimberlijský proces selhal, nevedl k přerušení financování konfliktu diamanty, a nepřispěl tedy ke stabilitě této země. S přihlédnutím k vládě i opozičním/secesionistickým skupinám jako aktérům, shrnuje tento výzkum zásadní překážky implementace iniciativy, a to za využití teorií politické geografie a vládnutí - dvou přístupů, které jsou aplikovány zejména v současných analýzách konfliktů o suroviny. …víceméně

Abstract: This study examines the challenges for the implementation of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which presents one of the cases where the Kimberley Process is regarded to have failed to break the link between conflict diamonds and violence, and thus did not contribute to the stability of the country. Taking both the government and opposition/secessionist groups into account, this thesis strives to summarise the underlying limits for the initiative’s implementation, drawing on the theories of political geography and governance – two frequently used approaches in recent analyses of resource-related conflicts. …víceméně
