Course objectives
Monetary and Financial Policy of the EU (KFMFPE) The course concentrates on understanding the objectively prevailing long-term factors leading to economic and monetary integration, as well as on the monetary and financial tools of the EU to support and enforce the trends. The course aims to explain the idea and principles of the European Economic and Monetary Union, its implementation and consequences. Students will be informed about the current state of the development of the European Monetary Union and the single currency (Euro). Issues concerning EU enlargement will be addressed, as well as the impact of EMU and the single currency on candidate countries (stressing the Czech Republic). Examination: oral.
