Course objectives
Main objective and content of this lesson is to present a describe principal problems of contemporary society and discuss it in English. In such tas main sociologicl concepts and problems of siciety are discussed - society, socialization, social groups, globalization, mass media, family, social pathology, corruption,religion etc. Accent is focused on mutual relations of global dominant cultural backgrounds including phenomenon of sport as the growing agent os mass culture in sedentary postmodern society.
Learning outcomes
Main and fundamental objective of this subject is deeper understanding of operation and tendencies of contemporary postmodern, sedentary consumerist society. Students are supported to understand existing forms of socialization, mutual relations of different global levels of culture, function of mass media, mutual relations of social and cultural majority and minorities, functioning sport phenomenon as growing agent of mass culture.
