Course objectives
The course is focused on the acquisition of the particular terminology in tourism typical of both the spoken and written language. The course intends to extend students vocabulary and to develop communicative skills in the field of tourism.
Syllabus
  • - Tourism today and in the past, different kinds of tourism - Tour companies and international tourism organisations - Eco/Agro/Green tourism and Eurovelo (the European Cycle Route Network) - Writing a CV, cover letter, tour itinerary and tour guide commentaries - Transport - Lodging indusrty (accomodation) - Food, restaurants and catering services - Health care and travel insurance - Tour operators, travel agents, travel guides, tour leaders - Final test

Assessment methods
Credit requirements: At the end of the course you get 2 credits. The requirements you need to follow to get the credits are: The course involves twelve 90-minute lessons, you need to be present for 9 of them, you can be absent three times and there is no need to apology for your absence. You need to hand in your CV in English. You also need to write the final test. When your attendance is adequate, you hand in your CV, you do not need to reach any % limit in your test results. If you do not accomplish these (attendance, CV), you still can get the credit, but you need to get 65% out of 100% for the final test.
